HBR Consulting is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Consultant to help drive the growth of its newly created and rapidly growing Business Intelligence and Analytics team. SpendConnect and CounselCommand are leading edge technology-based solutions that integrate multiple financial and operational data sources enabling organizations to monitor key metrics and make more informed decisions that impact the operations of the business.

As a Consultant within the Business Intelligence team, you will play an integral role supporting new and existing SpendConnect and CounselCommand clients. This position will offer many exciting opportunities to develop and enhance a new technology-based service line within a dynamic and fast-paced organization by supporting the design and development of a business intelligence solution.

Key Responsibilities

There is never a typical day on the Business Intelligence team, and that’s what makes the environment exciting. Your role will constantly be adapting to meet client and business needs. Your daily responsibilities may include the following:

Support both existing and new SpendConnect and CounselCommand clients by:

  • Providing an ongoing point of contact for clients, inclusive of onboarding, training, technical support, engagement letter creation, report creation and distribution, and support for the project management lead and team members
  • Managing multiple large data sources and streamlining data enrichment procedures and analytics to display the information via interactive dashboards
  • Collecting, parsing, and analyzing data received from clients’ systems and coordinating data enrichment and quality control with internal teams and off-shore resources
  • Managing security permissions for both external and internal clients including the monitoring of licenses and assigning rights
  • Implementing product updates, features and enhancements to new/existing modules
  • Supporting the creation of new SpendConnect and CounselCommand modules and other practice development initiatives

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or related field from an accredited college required
  • 4 + years of relevant workplace experience
  • Have permanent US work authorization
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to Chicago immediately
  • Knowledge of BI tools (Microsoft/SQL, Qlikview, Tableau, Spotfire, Cognos, Oracle, Business Objects)
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft SQL
  • Familiarity with ETL process and Microsoft SSIS and/or SSRS

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel
