The Strategic Sourcing & Business Optimization (SSBO) team assists clients in procuring goods and services, reducing costs across a variety of areas, optimizing business processes and improving stakeholder value.

As a part of HBR Consulting’s SSBO Procurement Solutions team, we will rely on you to work closely with project team members and client personnel, facilitating day to day procurement of goods and services, invoice audit and payment, product and service requirements gathering, researching best practices and leveraging internal intellectual property and conducting data analysis to facilitate the implementation of cost savings and process improvement opportunities.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Prior experience in day-to-day purchasing, including effective sourcing of goods and services
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills
  • Experience conducting financial analysis and research
  • Strong ability to analyze and organize data
  • Exceptional computer skills including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. High degree of comfort using other Microsoft products (Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience utilizing Request-to-Pay purchasing systems
  • Ability to perform audit analysis on suppliers and reporting
  • Effective organizational skills in a multitasked environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
  • Familiarity with reading and understanding contractual agreements
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with leadership, lawyers, staff, managers, suppliers, and public
  • Understand and use procurement technology on a daily basis
  • Provide procurement technology support for end-users
  • Perform other operational duties as required and assigned
  • Invoice payment preparation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain or Management Information Systems required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in an industry or consulting team-oriented environment focused on procurement / purchasing, strategic sourcing, process improvement, project management and/or financial analysis
  • Experience in a professional service environment is a plus
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to Atlanta immediately
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization
