Lauren is a senior director in the Law Department Consulting Practice of HBR Consulting. She has fifteen years of management consulting experience. For that past eight years, she has been working with law departments in the areas of strategic planning, structure and organization assessments, diagnostic reviews, cost management, benchmarking, and outside counsel management.
Lauren's areas of specialty include diagnostic assessments which provide a baseline understanding of key aspects of law department operations and management. This work includes evaluation of organizational structures and recommendation of alternatives to enhanced efficiency. Additionally, she analyzes legal spending trends and development of cost management strategies as well as providing in-depth benchmarking analysis on staffing, spending and management practices.
As part of her work on behalf of law departments, Lauren has conducted numerous custom benchmarking surveys for legal, patent, trademark, and compliance functions in a wide range of industries, including oil and gas; diversified financial services; insurance; consumer products; and pharmaceuticals.
Lauren is also the Editor of HBR Consulting's Law Department Survey, which is the premier source of benchmarking and compensation data for law departments. She works with law department leaders and compensation professionals to define and implement best practices in benchmarking methodologies.
Prior to joining HBR Consulting, Lauren was a management consultant, working in corporate strategy with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Lauren holds a B.A. from Wellesley College.
